SHORELINE — Sarah Fletcher’s (2-for-6, HR, two runs, three RBI) double in the 10th inning brought home Maddie Evans (3-for-5, two runs, two 2B) for the game-winning Wildcats run. After knotting the first game of their doubleheader at five apiece in five innings, Shorewood and Archbishop Murphy would each go scoreless in the next three frames. In the ninth, both scored two runs on a double and a single each, before Fletcher’s 10-inning double. Carly Madhavan (2-for-4, three runs, one RBI) homered in the third for Archbishop Murphy. Lillian Perreault (2-for-5, two runs, three RBI) also hit a home run in the third for the Stormrays. Ellie Van Horn pitched nine innings for Shorewood, striking out 20 hitters and allowing 11 hits. GAME TWO — The Stormrays (7-5 overall, 2-2 league) held on to an early 8-0 lead to win the second game of their doubleheader against the Wildcats (8-3, 5-1). Ellie Van Horn found herself in the circle again, striking out 11 while allowing six hits and no earned runs in five innings. Van Horn found her groove from the plate as well, hitting a double in a 2-for-4, two-run game. Rose Gallagher (2-for-3, HR, two runs, three RBI) set the tone with a three-run home run in the first inning. Grace McLaughlin (2-for-3, two runs) also poured in two RBI for Shorewood. Ari Dixon (1-for-1, two RBI), fresh off her complete game in the circle, started the comeback attempt in the second with a two-run homer to center field.
