SHORELINE — The Hawks (9-10 overall), seeded 11th, stayed hot with their third upset of the tournament to secure one of the district’s four state tournament berths.
Shorecrest 4, Monroe 1
SHORELINE — Fifth-seeded Shorecrest advanced to the state tournament with an upset of Monroe two days after taking down top-seeded Snohomish.

LAKEWOOD — Bakary Sonko rushed for two touchdowns and caught one of Evan Stacey’s four TD passes as the Class 2A Cougars finished their 4-6 season by knocking off Class 3A Mount Vernon (2-8). Stacey completed 25 of 33 passes for 306 yards and Sonko compiled 124 yards on 13 touches. Kai Elwell added eight receptions for 106 yards and a TD while Tyler Duncan led the ground game with 11 carries for 90 yards.
