Prep softball: Monroe 7, Mount Vernon 0

MONROE — Monroe put away Mount Vernon with back-to-back three-run innings and starter McKenzie Schulz did the rest for a Wesco 4A win Thursday.

Schulz pitched pitched a complete-game three-hitter with 11 strikeouts and Taylor Durant led the offense with a 2-for-3, three-RBI night at the plate.

Teammate Kiley Ochoa added a triple and Megan Rybar went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
