Wesco 4A

Kamiak 2, Glacier Peak 1

SNOHOMISH — After five scoreless innings, the Knights (10-4 overall, 5-2 league) and Grizzlies (11-3, 6-1) did all their scoring in the sixth. Kamiak shortstop Emma Stansfield’s two-run home run to center field proved to be enough to hand Glacier Peak their first league loss of the season. Synclair Mawudeku pitched a complete game for Kamiak, striking out six while allowing seven hits. Mawudeku (2-for-3) scored on Stansfield’s homer as well. Sammie Christensen (1-for-2, HR, RBI, run) scored the lone Glacier Peak run on her own home run shot to center field later in the sixth. The result shortens the Grizzlies’ Wesco 4A league lead to just one game as Kamiak remains in second.

Non-league

Stanwood 8, Lake Stevens 5

STANWOOD — The Spartans (12-2) erased a late comeback bid by the Vikings (8-8) by matching a game-tying Lake Stevens three-run sixth inning with a three-run sixth frame of their own. Reagan Ryan (2-for-4, 2 2B, 3 RBI, run) doubled twice to bring in three runs while Rubi Lopez (3-for-4, 3B, 2 RBI, 3 runs) tripled to bring in two runs and scored three times herself. Katie Lingren (2-for-3, 2B, RBI, run) doubled in the sixth as part of Lake Stevens’ final push.

Snohomish 14, Mountlake Terrace 3

MOUNTLAKE TERRACE — The Panthers (10-5) found seven extra base hits, including two home runs, to earn a dominant win over the Hawks (7-7). Abby Edwards (4-for-5, 2B, HR, 3 RBI, run) had an explosive day at the plate, punctuated by a sixth-inning solo homer. Kamryn Best (2-for-2, HR, 4 RBI, 3 runs) hit a two-run home run in the fifth as the Hawks had little issue tracking the ball on a 14-for-36 day. Jordyn Stokes (2-for-3, 2B, run) doubled for Mountlake Terrace.

Monroe 11, Meadowdale 1 (6)

MONROE — Five runs in both the fifth and sixth innings put an early end to a Monroe (10-5) win. Scarlett Nagy (2-for-4, 3B, HR, 4 RBI, 2 runs) made her two hits count, hitting a triple and a home run in that two-inning barrage. Tenny Oylear (2-for-4, HR, RBI, 2 runs) hit a solo home run in the fifth while Sophia Jeske (1-for-3, 3 runs) scored a game-high three runs. Zoe De Mello (2-for-3, 3B, run) scored Meadowdale’s only run.
