Non-league

Lake Stevens 8, Monroe 6

LAKE STEVENS — The Vikings (3-2) scored all of their runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to overcome a 3-0 deficit against the Bearcats (2-4). Emerson Cummins led the way with two homers in that stretch to finish the day 2-for-4 with five RBI. Reese Breckenridge was reliable at the plate for Lake Stevens as well, as she went 4-for-4 and scored twice. Despite allowing three runs in the final inning, Vikings pitcher Mara Sivley finished out a complete game with nine hits allowed and 10 strikeouts. Scarlett Nagy (2-for-4, three RBI) hit a two-run home run in the seventh to lead Monroe’s comeback effort.

Snohomish 11, Cascade 7

SNOHOMISH — A late Bruins push would come up short as the Panthers (5-1) earned a solid win. Snohomish led 9-1 after four innings, as Panthers pitcher Abby Edwards struck out nine of the 14 batters she faced while allowing one hit. Rhys Doyle (2-for-4) put the margin at eight for the Panthers on an inside-the-park home run. But as Edwards retreated to the dugout to be relieved, Cascade found their groove and scored six late runs. While they wouldn’t close the gap fully, Tessa Hahn (2-for-4, two RBI) and Cienna Cannon (2-for-4) each scored twice for Cascade (2-4).

Shorewood 8, Arlington 4

SHORELINE — Seven second-inning runs pushed the Stormrays (3-2) to a convincing win over the Eagles (0-2). Lillian Perreault (2-for-3) and Maddie Schilperoort (1-for-4) each finished with two RBI to lead Shorewood. Kylie Nuyen (1-for-4) had the lone RBI for Arlington on a first-inning triple.

Glacier Peak 11, Edmonds Woodway 2

EDMONDS — Emma Hirshorn pitched the whole way for the Grizzlies (1-2), allowing five hits to 16 Ks in a commanding Glacier Peak win. The Grizzlies also went 14-for-33 from the plate, as Sammie Christensen (2-for-2), Morgan Udy (2-for-4) and Hishorn (1-for-4) each had two RBI to lead the offense. Catie Ingalls and Audrey Sommer each scored a run in the third inning for the Warriors (3-1).

Meadowdale 7, Marysville Getchell 1

LYNNWOOD — Despite striking out just two hitters over the complete game, Meadowdale pitcher Olivia Feistel saw just 25 batters — the Mavericks defense had no errors despite the Chargers’ bats making constant contact on the night. Jaeden Sajec (3-for-4) and Madison Mitchell (2-for-2) led Meadowdale (1-2) with two runs scored each. Despite the result, Chargers pitcher Aaliyah Shafer struck out 13 hitters as Marysville Getchell dropped to 1-3.

Granite Falls 13, Lynnwood 3 (5)

LYNNWOOD — The Tigers (1-0) scored eight first-inning runs to down the Royals (1-4) for a win in their first game of the season. Addison Haverfield was perfect from the plate for Granite Falls, scoring a first-inning two-run homer in what turned out to be a 3-for-3, four-RBI outing. Charlee Rohn (1-for-4) also went yard on the second Granite Falls at-bat of the afternoon. Lynnwood attempted to avoid the run rule late down 13-0, as Olivia Michaels, Lanah Palumbo and Briar Knoth all scored a run in the final two innings.

Mountlake Terrace 8, Shorecrest 6

MOUNTLAKE TERRACE — The Hawks (3-1, 1-0) scored four runs in the fifth inning to break a 4-4 tie and take down the Scots (3-1, 0-1). Charlotte Snook had a solid game both ways, allowing eight hits to 12 Ks in the circle while scoring twice as a runner. Hailey Taron (2-for-3, three RBI) and Amaya Johnson (1-for-2, two RBI) helped clear the bases for Mountlake Terrace, as Johnson hit the Hawks’ lone home run in the third. Shorecrest’s Riu Hanrahan (3-for-4, three runs, HR) had an impressive showing for the Scots in the loss, coming up one single shy of hitting for the cycle.
