Mountlake Terrace 29, Ingraham 1
SEATTLE — Three home runs from junior Amaya Johnson (4-4, 11 RBI) put an exclamation point on a 28-run win for the Hawks on opening day. Mountlake Terrace was nearly perfect from the plate as a team, recording 29 hits on 29 at-bats. Sophomore pitcher Charlotte Snook had a busy day from the circle, retiring 11 hitters while allowing just one run in all five innings.
Edmonds-Woodway 19, Highline 0
EDMONDS — The Warriors scored 14 runs in the first two innings alone to open the season with a massive shutout win at home. Senior Ella Campbell stood out in the circle and at the plate, striking out 10 hitters in four out of five total innings while bringing in three RBI in four at-bats. Campbell was one of five Edmonds-Woodway hitters with two or more RBI on the day as fellow senior Catie Ingalls finished with three runs scored and three RBI in just three at-bats.
Shorewood 15, Holy Names Academy 5
SHORELINE — A 10-1 lead through three innings proved too much for the visiting Cougars to overcome as the Stormrays (1-0) earned a comfortable win in five innings. Shorewood pitcher Ellie Van Horn struck out 14 batters while teammate Rose Gallagher (2-4) hit the game’s sole home run in an 18-hit performance for the Stormrays.
Inglemoor 1, Jackson 0
KENMORE — The Timberwolves (0-1) weren’t able to overcome an opening-inning score from the Vikings. Jackson pitcher Allie Thomsen allowed just four hits in the loss.
North Creek 12, Kamiak 2
BOTHELL — Seven sixth-inning runs from the Jaguars ended the Knights’ (0-1) comeback chances due to the mercy rule.
