MARYSVILLE — Despite tallying just five hits, Stanwood took advantage of seven Marysville Getchell errors and drew ten walks to earn the comeback victory and the No. 3 seed in the Wesco 3A North divison.
Trailing 7-1 after three innings, the Spartans scored two runs in both the fifth and seventh innings to put the game into extras before scoring three runs in the top of the eighth. Freshman Teagan Miller allowed her the only run during her four innings pitched in the bottom of the eighth, but it wasn’t enough for the Chargers, as Miller earned her third victory of the season.
The Chargers were lead by junior Kaitlyn Bombach, who batted 4-for-5 with a double and an RBI.
