PREP STARS OF THE NIGHT FOR FRIDAY, JAN. 3:

Nakia Boston, Lynnwood girls basketball

Boston, a senior guard, scored 35 points, including 11-of-11 from the free-throw line, in the Royals’ 51-45 win over Stanwood in a Wesco 3A/2A contest.

Mutdung Bol, Edmonds-Woodway boys basketball

Bol, a senior guard, recorded a triple-double (11 points, 11 rebounds, 12 assists) against an Oak Harbor defense geared to stop him in the Warriors’ 70-45 win over the Wildcats in a Wesco 3A/2A matchup.

Johnny Franke, Darrington boys wrestling

Franke, a senior 195-pounder, advanced to Saturday’s semifinal round at the prestigious Gut Check tournament with a pair of victories via decision. Franke, who was the runner-up to Chiawana’s Isaiah Anderson at Tri-State earlier this season, could face Anderson again on Saturday if each wins his semifinal bout.

Mack Konig, Jackson girls basketball

Konig, a sophomore guard, scored 34 of the Timberwolves’ 61 points (55.7 percent) in a 61-22 Wesco 4A win over Mariner.

Sam Olson, Monroe boys basketball

Olson, a junior post, scored eight of his game-high 21 points in the fourth quarter as the Bearcats rallied past Mount Vernon for a 60-55 win in a Wesco 4A matchup.

Cort Roberson, Stanwood boys basketball

Roberson, a junior guard, scored 39 points, including seven 3-pointers, as the Spartans beat Lynnwood 80-56 in a Wesco 3A/2A contest.

Cayden White, Marysville Pilchuck boys wrestling

White, a senior 182-pounder, advanced to Saturday’s semifinal round at the prestigious Gut Check tournament after three victories via pinfall.
