Mia Chang, Jackson girls swimming
Chang, a junior, posted a 4A state qualifying time in the Timberwolves’ first meet of the 2019 season, clocking in at 52.94 seconds in the 100 freestyle. Chang helped Jackson to a 114-56 win over Meadowdale.
Elli Straume, Kamiak girls swimming
Straume, a senior, posted a pair of state qualifying times in the Knights first meet of the season, a 107-78 win over Lake Stevens. Straume recorded a time of 5 minutes, 17.96 seconds in the 500 freestyle, and her leadoff leg (54.36) in the 400 freestyle relay was a state qualifying time in the 100 freestyle.
Anna Albrecht, Cascade girls soccer
Albrecht, a junior forward, scored a second-half goal to lift the Bruins to a 1-0 Wesco 4A win over Kamiak. It was Cascade’s first win over the Knights since Sept. 4, 2012.
Ashley Bagstad, Meadowdale volleyball
Bagstad, a senior outside hitter, recorded 14 kills and added 16 digs in the Mavericks 3-1 win over Marysville Getchell in a Wesco 3A match.
Vicky Rodenbaugh, Granite Falls volleyball
Rodenbaugh, a junior setter/right side, filled up the stat sheet with three kills, 26 assists, 12 digs and three aces in a 3-1 non-conference win over Darrington.
