Dobler, a senior guard, made 7 of 8 free throws in the fourth quarter, and scored 14 of his 19 points in the final period to help Marysville Pilchuck beat Edmonds-Woodway 59-56 in a 3A Northwest District Tournament semifinal. The Tomahawks clinched a state-regional berth with the win.
Elijah Johnson, Shorecrest boys basketball
Johnson, a sophomore guard, led the Scots with 20 points — 11 in the third quarter — in a 68-58 win over Stanwood in a 3A Northwest District Tournament semifinal. The Scots clinched a state-regional berth with the win.
Malakhi Knight, Marysville Getchell boys basketball
Knight, a junior guard, poured in 41 points — 21 in the Chargers’ 34-point fourth quarter that helped them erase a nine-point deficit in a 77-70 win over Arlington in a 3A Northwest District Tournament elimination game. Knight added 11 rebounds, two steals, two assists and a block in the win.
Cole Nelson, Meadowdale boys basketball
Nelson, a junior guard/forward, scored 11 of his game-high 24 points in overtime as the Mavericks beat Squalicum 69-55 in a 3A Northwest District Tournament elimination game. Nelson went 4-for-7 from 3-point range, 8-for-11 from the free-throw line and added eight rebounds in the win.
