SHORELINE — King’s emerged from the 1A Tri-district tournament as the No. 1 seed for next week’s state tournament by defeating runner-up Lynden Christian in four games 25-14, 25-15, 22-25 and 25-20. The Knights received a strong effort from setter Mackenzie Daniels, who provided 64 assists and 25 digs for the final two matches, and Mackenzie Mitchell, who added 35 digs and nine aces. Their front line was led by Peyton Young, who slammed 19 kills, and Kaley Kenyon, who added 16 kills. In its semifinal match, King’s got past Bellevue Christian in three games (25-14, 25-18 and 25-17).
