SNOHOMISH — Lynnwood rebounded from a 2-1 deficit to win a five-set thriller with Glacier Peak on Wednesday night in a battle of previously unbeaten Wesco 3A squads.
Naomi Stazel recorded 14 kills and Kaprice Boston added 13 for the Royals, who recorded 12 team blocks and 87 digs in an impressive defensive effort.
Lauren Sanders pounded out 27 kills in a losing effort for the Grizzlies to go along with five blocks, and Maya Watkins added 12 kills.
“Our big goal going in tonight was to play with no fear,” Lynnwood coach Annalise Mudaliar said. “We wanted to play strong, steady volleyball, and after we lost two games in a row, I brought the girls together and told them to play to win. We had nothing to lose. We tried to keep them calm even thought emotions were high. We wanted them to finish strong and they did.”
