Lake Stevens tops Lynnwood in matchup of last year’s state placers

Prep volleyball roundup for Monday, Sept. 30:

LYNNWOOD — In a non-league matchup of two teams that placed at state last year, the Vikings won three out of four sets with scores of 25-22, 25-8, 27-29 and 25-20. Junior outside hitter Laura Eichert led the Vikings (4-2 overall) with 31 kills, 15 digs and an ace. Senior outside hitter Jayci Scrivens added 14 kills, 11 digs and two aces, while freshman Ella Iseminger chipped in with 14 digs and three aces. Lynnwood (3-3) leaders included Sammy Holmer with 14 kills, two aces and eight digs along with Ady Morgan’s 24 assists and three aces.

Wesco 3A/2A North

Everett 3, Marysville Getchell 1

EVERETT — For Everett (2-4 league, 1-1 overall), sophomore Ava Gonzalez contributed 30 kills, seven aces and 11 digs, Sophomore Ava Urbanozo had 52 assists and 14 digs and senior captain Emi Regan-Bone added 12 kills and 3 digs. Katrina Gutenkauf led MG with 28 assists and seven aces while Quinn Gleason helped with 30 digs.

Snohomish 3, Monroe 0

SNOHOMISH — The Panthers (3-3 overall, 2-0 league), led by Heidi Chambers (24 kills, eight digs, three aces) and Maggie Cavanaugh (38 assists, 12 digs) won by scores of 25-21, 25-23, 25-9. Monroe (5-1, 1-1)) was led by Maddie Walker’s 17 digs and Shanara Peebles’ 10 kills.

Stanwood 3, Marysville Pilchuck 0

STANWOOD — Addison Bowie’s 14 assists and seven digs led the Spartans to a 25-20, 25-23, 25-17 triumph over Marysville Pilchuck. Darina Glassburn led the Tommies with 13 assists and 10 digs. Stanwood improved to 3-2 overall and 2-0 league while MP dropped to 3-3, 0-2.

Wesco 3A/2A South

Edmonds-Woodway 3, Mountlake Terrace 1

EDMONDS — The Warriors (6-0 overall, 3-0 league) kept their perfect record intact with a 25-18, 25-21, 24-26, 25-16 win. Sawyer Hiatt led E-W with 18 kills and four digs. The Hawks fell to 2-4, 1-3.

Archbishop Murphy 3, Meadowdale 0

EVERETT — Laura Esping led the Wildcats (6-1 overall, 3-0 league) to a 25-21, 25-20, 25-14 sweep of Meadowdale (2-5, 0-4) with six kills and 13 assists.
