ARLINGTON — Senior outside hitter Melissa Hadley contributed 20 kills and 3 aces as the Eagles took three of four games by scores of 25-20, 26-24, 18-25, 25-12 over their Stilly River rivals to improve to 2-0. Stanwood (0-2) kept the games close thanks to Harper Neyens (10 kills, 13 digs), Whitney Longspaugh (16 digs, nine kills) and Addison Bowie (16 assists, 12 digs). Arlington countered with Emme Shaffer (15 kills, 15 digs, five aces), Natalie Spellman (25 digs), Audrey Marsh (21 assists, three aces) and Adriana Rodriguez (20 assists) in a match played at Arlington High School.

Non-league

Curtis 3, Lake Stevens 0

LAKE STEVENS — Curtis edged the Lake Stevens in each of the three games, 25-19, 25-20 and 25-18. Laura Eichert led Lake Stevens with 18 kills, two aces and six digs. Read The Herald’s coverage of the match here.

Kamiak 3, Snohomish 1

SNOHOMISH — Cadency Bigby’s 24 kills led the Knights to a season-opening victory with scores of 25-19, 20-25, 28-26 and 25-21. Heidi Chambers led the Panthers (1-2) with 16 digs and 10 kills, while Keira Beverford added 20 digs and eight kills. Paige Leger added 12 digs for Kamiak.

Marysville Pilchuck 3, Lakewood 1

MARYSVILLE — The Tomahawks, led by Darina Glassburn’s 21 assists and 21 digs and Aideen Bobadilla’s 18 digs and 3 aces, defeated Lakewood 25-17, 16-25, 25-21 and 25-23. Marysville Pilchuck improved to 2-0 overall, while Lakewood fell to 0-1.

Glacier Peak 3, North Creek 0

BOTHELL — Julia Martin’s 24 assists led the Grizzlies to a season-opening victory over North Creek (0-1) by scores of 25-20, 25-20 and 25-10. Ana Novak contributed 11 kills, and Hanna Ligons added four kills and five blocks for GP in the non-league match.

Edmonds-Woodway 3, Hazen 0

RENTON — The Warriors won by scores of 25-4, 25-18 and 25-15 while improving to 2-0 thanks to Addy Pontak’s 22 digs, Ava Bartin’s 12 digs and Neeva Travis’ 15 assists.

Darrington 3, Shoreline Christian 0

SHORELINE — Claire Wright helped the Loggers improved to 2-0 with 11 kills, three aces and eight digs. Lucy Stewart (five blocks), Sophie Ross (nine kills, nine digs) and Ava Patter (19 assists) also sparked Darrington. The Chargers dropped to 0-2.
