SHORELINE — The Shorewood volleyball team used a balanced attack and won three highly contested sets Wednesday night, earning a 3-0 win over undefeated Marysville Pilchuck in a Wesco 3A league contest.
“We definitely did not go into this match worrying about them coming in undefeated,” Shorewood head coach Jennifer Chartrand said.
Senior setter Sidra Thorkildsen set up multiple teammates, finishing with 31 assists, and even contributed on the offensive end, tallying three aces. Elli Allen-Hatch recorded 13 kills and Delaney Hopin added 16 digs and 12 kills for Shorewood, which improved to 2-1 in league and 2-4 overall.
“I’m really pleased that (Thorkildsen) is really working to move the ball around and to keep all the hitters engaged in the game, not just going to one or two players” Chartrand said. “We are working really hard to utilize all the players that we have.”
Kendall Mccoy finished with 26 digs to lead the Tomahawks, who fell to 2-1 in league play and 3-1 overall.
