Prep wrestling: Shoreline Invitational

SHORELINE — Bellevue beat out eight area teams in Saturday’s Shoreline Invitational with 169 points. Two Wesco schools — Shorewood and Shorecrest — finished second and third respectively.

Shorewood had three division champions at the invite with Alex Lee winning the 103 pound division, Matthew Floresca taking 112 and Brandon Leach earning the title at 119. If not for Bellevue’s Peter Ovens pinning David Ball at 1:25 to win the 145 pound division, the Thunderbirds would have had four.

As for the Scots, Drew Arbinson placed first in the 160 pound division with a 17-9 decision over Blanchet’s Spencer Sherman and Ian Bolstad was the best heavyweight, winning by pin over Roosevelt’s Connor Leeds at 2:37. Joseph Dexter placed second in the 171 division, losing to O’Dea’s Micah Ehglehart.
