ST. LOUIS — St. Louis Rams offensive lineman Jake Long and wide receiver Brian Quick both will miss the rest of the season because of injuries, coach Jeff Fisher said on Monday.
Long tore the ACL in his knee during the third quarter of the Rams’ 34-7 loss at Kansas City on Sunday. Long tore the same ACL 10 months ago, ending his 2013 season.
Fisher said Quick “suffered significant damage” to his shoulder in the second quarter against the Chiefs. The injury occurred on Quick’s lone catch of the game, a 10-yard gain.
Quick, the 33rd pick in the 2012 draft, was starting to live up to the expectations he had coming out of Appalachian State. His 25 catches are second most on the Rams and he is the team leader in yards receiving at 375. Quick also had three touchdowns.
Fisher said Quick will have to undergo surgery, but is expected to make a full recovery. A surgery date has not been scheduled.
