Re-watch Connor Dewar’s game-tying goal and check out the People’s Power Rankings

Last night was certainly a wild game at Xfinity Arena. ICYMI you can read my game story as well as my post-game blog entry. Probably the next-best thing to do is to watch Connor Dewar’s game-tying goal as called by Mike Benton, the voice of the Silvertips. I’ve embedded it below:

You can also take a gander as the the Silvertips held at No. 3 in the Western Conference People’s Power Rankings that are compiled by Paul Figler.

The Vancouver Giants made an unfortunate announcement today when they said that they are shutting down potential Top 10 NHL draft pick Tyler Benson down for the season:

Benson has been hampered by injuries all season long and the Giants are 10 points back of Kamloops for the final playoff spot, so it seems Vancouver is just going to give their star a chance to get healthy before the draft.

I guess it’s never too early to start looking ahead to the 2017 NHL draft, as Buzzing the Net columnist Kelly Friesen writes. Nolan Patrick of the Brandon Wheat Kings is the cream of the crop in the WHL class, while Friesen mentions a number of U.S. Division players – none of them Silvertips – in his article, including Spokane forwards Kailer Yamamoto and Jaret Anderson-Dolan, Tri-City defenseman Juuso Valimaki along with teammate and center Michael Rasmussen, and Portland center Cody Glass.
