Reader poll: Best local girls soccer team?

I saw a pretty good girls soccer game Tuesday night in Marysville. Sparked by midfielder Kinslee Isaman and goalkeeper Sierra Hobday, the Lake Stevens Vikings topped the Marysville-Tomahawks 2-0.

It was an important Wesco North game. Lake Stevens (6-2-1, 19 points) now has a three-point lead over M-P (5-3-1, 16 points) for the division’s No. 1 Class 4A seed.

Of course, the team leading the North is 3A Everett (9-0, 27 points), which drilled Arlington (2-7, six points) 6-0 on Tuesday. Congrats to freshman midfielder Cherise “CJ” Shaver. She scored three goals for a hat trick, after not scoring at all through eight games. And how about freshman goalkeeper Katie Johnson? She already has six shutouts.

Defending state champion Everett, ranked No. 1 in the CoachesAid.com 3A poll, has outscored opponents 30-4 this season. The Seagulls have a couple challenges coming up: Stanwood (3-3-2) on Thursday and M-P on Tuesday.

Our area is loaded with so many strong girls soccer teams. But which one is the best? It’s hard to not pick Everett, which is ranked regionally and hopes to defend its state title. What do you think? Where do 2A top-ranked Archbishop Murphy (9-0) and 4A No. 6 Jackson (8-0-1) fit in? How about 1A No. 2 King’s (7-2)?
