At The Herald, we recognize the top local football players at the end of every season by naming our All-Area teams. The biggest honors go to our Offensive Player of the Year and our Defensive Player of the Year.
Look for that stuff to appear in print and online within the next couple weeks.
But what about the best coaches? We don’t name an All-Area Football Coach of the Year anymore, choosing instead to keep the focus on student-athletes. It’s clear there are some very special coaches around here though.
Some of them guided their teams to historic achievements, or took seemingly mediocre squads and helped turn them into winners.
