The Silvertips are coming off a 7-2 home thrashing at the hands of the Tri-City Americans on Saturday. However, the circumstances will be a little different when the teams meet up again Wednesday in Kennewick.
This week is the WHL’s turn in the Canada-Russia Challenge. A team of WHL all-stars will be playing two games against a Russian all-star team. These games are used by Hockey Canada to help identify candidates for the World Junior Hockey Championships.
Both Everett and Tri-City will be losing one player to the Canada-Russia Challenge. Everett is losing star winger Kyle Beach, while Tri-City loses starting goaltender Chet Pickard. Not having those players available changes the dynamic for both teams. But which team is hurt more? Who’s more important to his team’s success, Beach or Pickard? That’s the pretense for this week’s poll question, which addresses Wednesday’s game.
