Everett’s winning streak has stretched to a franchise record 14. Just how much longer can it go?
This week will test the Tips’ resolve to keep the streak intact. After playing six of their past seven games at home, the Tips take to the road with games at Spokane on Wednesday and at Vancouver on Friday. That game at Vancouver will be played at the Langley Events Center instead of Pacific Coliseum because of the Olympics. Everett’s week concludes with a home game against Spokane on Saturday.
Both Spokane and Vancouver are quality teams. Spokane, though sitting in fourth in the U.S. Division, is 10 games above .500 and has a better goal differential than the Tips. Vancouver is well on its way to its fifth straight B.C. Division title. Under normal conditions I would think both teams would be favored at home against Everett.
However, the Tips also have excellent records against both teams. Everett is 3-1 this season against Vancouver and 4-0 against Spokane.
So, given the circumstances:
