June has ended, but not without a fair amount of Silvertips news. June is always the busiest month of the offseason. It helps that the NHL draft and the import draft are June staples, but it always seems the summer’s other prominent news happens in June as well. This June wasn’t quite as crazy as last June, when Everett was conducting a coaching search, but there was still plenty to keep a Tips fan alert.
So with that in mind, it’s time for an offseason poll. Let’s find out what everyone thought about the just-completed month:
Now, regardless of the poll outcome, I want to give full credit to Everett’s front office for its creativity. The Tips won the WHL’s marketing award last season, and already they’re building on that for the upcoming season with the inclusion of the OHL’s Soo Greyhounds in their preseason tournament. Whether it’s bidding for the Memorial Cup, or building a fan zamboni, or bringing in an NHL preseason game, the Tips find a way to throw in a new wrinkle each year. This organization makes a true effort to keep things interesting for the fans, and I for one appreciate that.
