Winter greetings to everyone. Here’s hoping you haven’t been snowed in the way I have.
Anyway, the winter conditions seem to call for a reader question, even though the season is on hold for the Christmas break. What I want to know is what are people’s favorite memory of the first half of the season?
Here’s mine. It was during that crazy 8-6 home victory over Kelowna. The Tips were getting hemmed into their own zone when Kellan Tochkin finally got the puck out by lifting it high into the air toward center ice. Tyler Maxwell turned on the jets, reached out his stick to chip the puck between two defenders, squeezed between them for a breakaway, then scored with a move to his backhand at full speed. I happened to have my eyes in the right place so I could watch that goal develop from the beginning, and it was breathtaking. I also think it was the moment that Maxwell realized he belonged in this league as he’s been a different player since.
So what are your favorite and most memorable moments from the first half?
