Reader question of the week

Everett’s line of Kellan Tochkin, Byron Froese and Tyler Maxwell just keeps rolling along. The 17-year-old rookies carried the Tips offensively during their road trip through the East Division, and over the past 13 games they’ve combined for a staggering 46 points. Tochkin now has 24 points in 22 games, Froese 18 points in 22 games and Maxwell 16 points in 21 games.

Which brings us to this: This trio is just crying out for a nickname. Great lines need a distinctive moniker. Whether it’s the legendary Russian KLM line, Philadelphia’s fabled Production Line, or even Everett’s Joes Line from two seasons ago, names for lines are common and give color to the game.

So far the Tochkin-Froese-Maxwell line has generally been referred to as the Kid Line or the Young Guns, rather ordinary names. I think we need to come up with something a little more distinctive.

So what I’d like today are for you readers to throw out some suggestions. The wilder and more creative the ideas, the better. I have a few ideas of my own, too. If I get enough worthwhile suggestions what I’ll do is create a poll and let everyone vote on them. Then when I write a feature story on them (probably later this week), I’ll introduce the new nickname there.

So get to work people!
