EVERETT — Andy Thomas blasted a two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning to break up a tied game and the surging Everett AquaSox beat the Tri-City Dust Devils 5-2 on Wednesday night for their ninth consecutive win.
Thomas finished the game 2-for-4 with three RBI, and Dariel Gomez and Mike Salvatore each drove in a run for the AquaSox, who improved their season record to 29-29.
Bryce Miller started for Everett and allowed no runs on two hits in two innings pitched. Leon Hunter Jr. struck out three in two clean innings to earn his fourth save.
Mike Peabody went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI for Tri-City (25-30).
