Snohomish County Explosion general manager Brad Sturlaugson announced Wednesday that head coach Randy Redwine and assistant coach Mike Moss will return for the 2009 International Basketball League season.
The Explosion finished the regular season fourth in the IBL’s five-team West Division with a 14-9 record. They open play in the Western Conference Playoffs on Friday night at Monroe High School. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
“Randy has put together a 31-14 record over the last two years,” Sturlaugson said. “He has an11-3 record at home this year. Teams know that beating the Explosion at home is a very daunting proposition. Randy can attract some of the best players from around the country who want to come and perform their best for him, and he gets the most out of that talent. We are very pleased to have Randy and Mike back in the fold next year.”
Team owner Nathan Mumm, who joined the coaching staff during the season, will return to the sidelines.
