Cedar Park Christian-Mountlake Terrace’s Erwin Weary Jr. and Cedar Park Christian-Bothell’s George Reidy have been named players of the year in their respective classifications by the Washington Interscholastic Basketball Coaches Association.
Weary was selected for the Class 1B level, and Reidy was chosen for the 1A ranks.
Other winners were Richland’s Riley Sorn (4A), Wilson’s Emmitt Matthews Jr. (3A), North Kitsap’s Zac Olmsted (2A), and Matt Poquette from Morton/White Pass (2B).
Kevin Porter Jr. of Rainier Beach was selected WIBCA Mr. Basketball for 2018.
In addition to the players of the year, the WIBCA named its all-state teams. Kamiak’s Carson Tuttle was one of 10 players on the 4A team; Shorecrest’s Philip Pepple made the 3A team; Reidy and Lewis Pope of South Whidbey were honored on the 1A squad, and Weary made the 2B team.
