According to the Tri-City Herald’s Annie Fowler, Tips goaltender Kent Simpson suffered an ankle injury in Friday’s 3-2 overtime defeat against the Americans.
Simpson, who was making his 19th straight start, stopped 27 of 28 shots before skating gingerly off the ice with 7.3 seconds remaining in the second period. He did not return.
Fowler talked to Everett coach Craig Hartsburg following the game and included the following line in her game story: “Hartsburg said Simpson injured his ankle and would be evaluated today.”
