Rockets snap Silvertips’ 4-game win streak

Jackson Berezowski scores twice, but Everett can’t overcome Andrew Cristall’s four goals in a 5-2 loss to Kelowna.

KELOWNA, B.C. — Andrew Cristall scored four goals and the Kelowna Rockets beat Everett 5-2 on Wednesday to snap the Silvertips’ four-game win streak.

Gabriel Szturc scored in the first period before Cristall exploded with three goals in the second as Kelowna raced out to a 4-0 lead.

Jackson Berezowski scored twice in the third period to cut the Silvertips’ deficit to 5-2, before Cristall added a late empty-netter to seal the win for the Rockets.

Jesse Heslop had two assists and Tyler Palmer made 16 saves on 20 shots before being relieved by Tim Metzger, who stopped all three shots he faced for Everett (27-23-2-0).

Jari Kykkanen had 41 saves on 43 shots faced for Kelowna (18-30-3-0).
