EVERETT — Julio Rodriguez homered for the second straight game and George Kirby was dominant on the hill as the Everett AquaSox beat the Tri-City Dust Devils 5-2 for their sixth consecutive win.
Rodriguez launched a solo shot in the bottom of the first inning to give Everett the early lead. The home run was the third of the young season for Rodriguez.
Kirby took over from there.
After issuing the first walk of his minor league career in the first inning, the big right-hander was nearly untouchable. Kirby did not allow a hit over five innings and struck out eight batters to earn the win.
Kaden Polcovich doubled and drove in two runs and Carter Bins added his first homer of the season for Everett (8-2) in the eighth inning.
Francisco Del Valle had two hits and drove in two runs for Tri-City (3-7).
