SAN ANTONIO — Dallas Cowboys receiver Roy Williams has returned to the practice field with his sprained left wrist protectively taped, and cornerback Terence Newman was back as well.
Williams was first in line to catch a pass from Tony Romo when the offense started its warmup session Monday. Instead of his normal No. 11 jersey, or even the No. 4 he sometimes wears at practice, Williams was wearing Patrick Crayton’s No. 84.
After coming down hard on his wrist in the first workout Sunday, Williams missed the afternoon session while having X-rays that were negative.
Newman had been sidelined by a slight groin strain since Aug. 8.
