Russell Wilson was so good on Monday night that Washington safety Ryan Clark called the Seahawks QB “the best player in the NFL.” While that claim is certainly debatable, Wilson can at least definitively call himself the NFC offensive player of the week.
Wilson, who threw for 201 yards and two scores and rushed for a career-high 122 yards and a touchdown, earned player of the week honors for the third time in his career.
According to Randall Liu, the NFL’s director of NFC communications, Wilson is just the second quarterback in NFL history to rush for 120 or more yards while also posting a passer rating over 120, joining Randall Cunningham.
Two weeks ago, Kam Chancellor earned defensive player of the week honors for his performance against Denver, and punter Jon Ryan was named NFC special teams player of the month for September.
