EVERETT — Three Salem-Keizer pitchers combined to no-hit the Everett AquaSox on Saturday night as the Volcanoes beat the Sox 8-0 at Everett Memorial Stadium.
Craig Westcott, Brandon Graves and Wilbur Bucardo combined on the feat, which was the Northwest League’s first no-hitter since Vancouver’s Brad Hertzler threw a five-inning no-hitter in 2007, and the first nine-inning no-hitter since Spokane’s Gregory Atencio and Austin Taylor combined on a no-hitter in 2002.
The victory pushed Salem-Keizer’s lead over Everett atop the West Division standings to five games with 15 games remaining in the season.
