Saturday night in the WNBA

The Phoenix Mercury got back on track on Saturday night with a 91-84 victory over the New York Liberty.

Penny Taylor led the Mercury (11-7) with 29 points and Diana Taurasi chipped in 16. Nicole Powell scored 16 points to lead the Liberty (10-8).

The Los Angeles Sparks stole one on the road in Chicago with an 88-84 victory over the Sky.

DeLisha Milton-Jones scored 19 points to lead the Sparks (7-10). Sylvia Fowles and Epiphanny Prince each scored 16 to lead the Sky (9-11).

In Saturday’s other game, the Seattle Storm easily defeated the Tulsa Shock, 89-72.
