The Seahawks have signed tackle Andrew McDonald off Carolina’s practice squad, according to his agent Brett Tessler. No corresponding roster move has to be made because the Seahawks waived receiver Phil Bates on Saturday.
The Seattle Seahawks have just signed OT Andrew McDonald to their 53-man roster off the Carolina Panthers practice squad.

Tessler, who is listed at 6-6, 310 pounds, went undrafted out of Indiana in 2012 and spent time in Miami and Carolina. McDonald, 26, had surgery this offseason to treat testicular cancer, but was able to return to action in time for training camp.
The addition of an offensive lineman is not surprising given that the Seahawks only had eight linemen after placing Lemuel Jeanpierre on injured reserve. And this likely won’t be Seattle’s only roster move this week, as they’re currently thin at cornerback with Jeremy Lane and Tharold Simon both sidelined.
