The Seahawks will be without starting left tackle Russell Okung when they host the Cowboys this afternoon. Okung, who left last week’s game with a bruised knee, was able to practice some this week, but was listed as questionable on Friday’s injury report. Okung did some running on the field a couple hours before the game to test the knee, and apparently he was not well enough to play.
With Okung out, the Seahawks will start Frank Omiyale at left tackle. Now this is no knock on Omiyale, but that is hardly an ideal situation for the Seahawks, particularly when facing Cowboys linebacker DeMarcus Ware, who is one of the best pass-rushers in football.
The rest of the Seahawks inactives are: WR Charly Martin, RB Kregg Lumpkin, S Winston Guy, CB Jeremy Lane, G James Carpenter and DT Jaye Howard.
Okung won’t be the only key player sitting out today; the Cowboys are without starting nose tackle Jay Ratliff and starting center Phil Costa. Dallas’ other inactives are WR Cole Beasley, WR Andre Holmes, CB Mario Butler, S Matt Johnson and LB Kyle Wilber.
