The Seahawks announced a handful roster moves, all of which had been reported earlier in the day (in other words, no big shockers).
Seattle claimed off of waivers DT Landon Cohen, DT Al Woods, K Steven Hauschka, and tackle Jarriel King.
The Seahawks released DT Junior Siavii, K Jeff Reed, DT Pep Levingston and LB David Vobora.Siavii is the most significant player to be cut, having started six games and played in 14 last season as a key reserve. He had 30 tackles last year. Reed had been accurate in training camp, but didn’t show a strong leg, particularly on kickoffs, so it’s no surprise the Seahawks looked to add a stronger leg.
The Seahawks also signed six players to their practice squad:
DE Maurice Fountain
DE Jameson Konz
WR Ricardo Lockette
G Brent Osborne
S Josh Pinkard
WR Owen Spencer
Teams are allowed eight practice squad players, so expect Seattle to add a couple more in the next couple of days.
