RENTON — The Seattle Seahawks have signed former Tampa Bay linebacker Matt McCoy to a one-year contract to add depth to their defense and special teams.
The Seahawks announced the signing Wednesday.
The 27-year-old second-round pick of Philadelphia in 2005 played in 12 games, including two starts, last season. It was his second with the Buccaneers. He finished the 2007 season with New Orleans.
The former San Diego State Aztec has made 97 tackles and forced three fumbles in 47 NFL games, 12 of them starts. He has made another 50 tackles on special teams.
