The Seahawks finally placed right tackle James Carpenter on injured reserve, a move that has been coming since he suffered a season-ending knee injury in practice last week. His roster spot was filled Thursday by tackle Allen Barbre. Barbre, a fourth-round pick of Green Bay in 2007, spent part of last season with Seattle. Barbre has started seven games in his career, all during the 2009 season in Green Bay. Also, both Carpenter and right guard John Moffitt had successful surgeries on their injured knees yesterday.
Here is today’s injury report, which includes WR Sidney Rice missing his second straight practice. Not sure if that’s something that could keep him out this weekend, or just a case of getting some rest. We’ll know more when we hear from Pete Carroll tomorrow. In better news, QB Tarvaris Jackson practiced fully a day after not throwing to rest his injured pectoral muscle.
