Here are the Seattle Seahawks’ offensive and defensive snap counts from their 27-17 victory over the New York Jets on Sunday (plays, percentage):
OFFENSE (60)
G Glowinski (60, 100)
G Ifedi (60, 100)
T Gilliam (60, 100)
C Britt (60, 100)
T Sowell (60, 100)
QB Wilson (60, 100)
WR Baldwin (45, 75)
WR Kearse (45, 75)
RB Michael (44, 73)
TE Willson (40, 67)
TE Graham (40, 67)
WR Richardson (39, 65)
WR Lockett (14, 23)
TE Williams (11, 18)
RB Spiller (9, 15)
WR McEvoy (8, 13)
RB Collins (6, 10)
Notes: For the second straight game receiver Tyler Lockett saw limited snap counts on offense because of his knee issue, so the bye week comes at a good time for him. Paul Richardson saw his playing time increase as a result. Running back C.J. Spiller practiced with the team just twice after signing on Wednesday, but he made the most of his nine snaps, including a touchdown reception. Guard Germain Ifedi, making his NFL debut after the first-round draft pick missed Seattle’s first three contests because of a sprained ankle, made it all the way through the game. So did quarterback Russell Wilson, who was great despite his sprained right ankle and left knee.
DEFENSE (71)
SS Chancellor (71, 100)
FS Thomas (71, 100)
CB Sherman (71, 100)
LB Wagner (71, 100)
CB Shead (71, 100)
LB Wright (70, 99)
DE Bennett (64, 90)
DE Avril (63, 89)
CB Lane (62, 87)
DE Clark (48, 68)
DT Rubin (28, 39)
DT McDaniel (28, 39)
DE Marsh (26, 37)
DT Smith (18, 25)
LB Morgan (9, 13)
DT Jefferson (9, 13)
FS Terrell (1, 1)
Notes: The Seahawks spent yet another game playing substantially more in their nickel defense than their base defense, as evidenced by the high number of snaps for cornerback Jeremy Lane and the low number of snaps for strong-side linebacker Mike Morgan. Being in nickel also gave defensive end Frank Clark plenty of opportunity to play. Defensive tackle Garrison Smith continued to see playing time, despite defensive tackle Quinton Jefferson (hand) being active again, suggesting the team likes the way Smith is performing.
