The Seahawks made their final pick of the 2015 draft, taking Oregon State safety Ryan Murphy with pick No. 248.
So to recap, Seattle to DE Frank Clark in the second round, WR Tyler Lockett in the third, OT Terry Poole and G Mark Glowinski in the fourth, CB Tye Smith in the fifth, DE Obum Gwacham and G Kristjan Sokoli in the sixth and Murphy in the seventh.
Murphy, who is listed at 6-foot, 214 pounds, is a very athletic defensive back some have projected as a possible fit at corner, but he is, for now at least, listed as a strong safety. Murphy went to high school at Oakland Tech, the alma mater of Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch, who just happens to be Murphy’s cousin. Murphy said he and Lynch are very close, and that he even briefly stayed at Lynch’s house when he was 16. Murphy joked that he was hoping to play against Lynch in the NFL to test himself against the best, not with him, but is obviously excited to call Lynch a teammate.
