The Seahawks are expected to sign defensive lineman Anthony Hargrove, who was released by the Eagles last week. Hargrove, who spent the past two seasons in New Orleans, indicated on on Twitter that he has signed in Seattle. He later wrote that he expects to play on Sunday. The Seahawks did not announce the signing, or a corresponding move to free up a roster spot. Hargrove, who is listed at 6-3, 272, had five sacks in 2009 and started six games for the Super Bowl champion Saints. He had 21 tackles and one sack last season, but did not start a game.
Hargrove could be coming in to fill the role of DE Jimmy Wilkerson, who was placed on injured reserve with a knee injury. Wilkerson, who signed as a free agent this summer, showed promise as a backup linemen who a disruptive force in the backfield.
