Here are the offensive and defensive snap counts from the Seattle Seahawks’ 39-32 loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday (plays, percentage):
OFFENSE (61)
G Sweezy (61, 100)
G Britt (61, 100)
T Gilliam (61, 100)
C Lewis (61, 100)
QB Wilson (61, 100)
T Okung (59, 97)
TE Graham (56, 92)
WR Baldwin (55, 90)
WR Kearse (49, 80)
RB Lynch (48, 79)
WR Lockett (46, 75)
TE Willson (15, 25)
WR Matthews (12, 20)
RB Rawls (9, 15)
WR Richardson (6, 10)
FB Tukuafu (5, 8)
T Bailey (3, 5)
RB Jackson (3, 5)
Notable: RB Marshawn Lynch, who was a game-time decision because of an abdominal injury, handled a normal workload, so apparently the injury wasn’t a factor, though he did carry the ball just eight times. WR Paul Richardson, playing for the first time after missing the first eight games recovering from a knee injury, managed just six snaps before he departed with a hamstring injury. RB Fred Jackson is nominally Seattle’s third-down running back, but he was used sparingly, appearing in just three plays (Seattle was 1-for-8 on third down).
DEFENSE (89)
CB Sherman (89, 100)
CB Williams (89, 100)
FS Thomas (89, 100)
SS Chancellor (89, 100)
LB Wagner (89, 100)
LB Wright (88, 99)
DE Bennett (68, 76)
DE Avril (67, 75)
DT Rubin (58, 65)
LB Irvin (56, 63)
DT Mebane (54, 61)
SS Shead (45, 51)
DT Hill (36, 40)
DE Marsh (16, 18)
DE Clark (16, 18)
DE Dobbs (14, 16)
LB Morgan (13, 15)
CB Burley (1, 1)
Notable: It’s worth mentioning Seattle’s defense was on the field for 28 more plays than the offense, and this isn’t the first time this season the defense has had to do the heavy work in a game. LB Bruce Irvin’s snap count is low because he exited in the second half with a knee injury, with Mike Morgan taking up his duties. Deshawn Shead continued to be the primary nickel back ahead of Marcus Burley. DE Frank Clark’s snaps decreased a touch as the Seahawks rotated their reserve defensive ends equally.
