Seahawks vs. Patriots injury report: Chancellor returns

Here’s the updated official injury report for Sunday night’s game between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots at Gillette Field in Foxborough, Mass.:

SEATTLE

Out: DE Michael Bennett (knee), RB Thomas Rawls (fibula).

Doubtful: none.

Questionable: T Bradley Sowell (knee), CB DeAndre Elliott (hamstring), TE Luke Willson (knee), RB Christine Michael (hamstring).

Notes: The biggest news for Seattle concerns who isn’t on the injury report as strong safety Kam Chancellor, who missed the previous four games because of a groin injury, is set to return. Sowell and Willson both seem set to come back from their injuries, though Seahawks coach Pete Carroll did not commit to Sowell reclaiming a starting position if he does return — George Fant has started at left tackle in Sowell’s absence. Michael was a late addition to the injury report following Friday’s practice, and if he can’t go then rookie C.J. Prosise is in for a busy day. Rawls remains out, but has returned to practice and the hope is he will be able to play the following week against Philadelphia. Bennett is expected to be out another week or two as he recovers from surgery.

NEW ENGLAND

Out: none.

Doubtful: none.

Questionable: TE Martellus Bennett (ankle), DT Alan Branch (back), WR Julian Edelman (foot), WR Chris Hogan (back).

Notes: The Patriots, coming off their bye, are in good shape physically. Bennett, Branch and Edelman are all important players for New England, but will likely play. There’s also a possibility the Patriots activate running back Dion Lewis (knee) from the physically-unable-to-perform list this week.
