SEATTLE — Charles Garcia is wasting no time. The Seattle University forward is declaring for the NBA draft effective the end of the Redhawks season.
The 6-foot-10 forward with skills to play on the perimeter made the announcement Monday. The Redhawks concluded their regular season on Saturday with a 74-64 win over Utah Valley and have a slight chance of playing in one of the smaller postseason tournaments.
Garcia averaged 18.7 points and 8.3 rebounds per game as the Redhawks finished the regular season 17-14. But he caught the attention of NBA scouts early by putting up huge numbers in the first half of the season before tapering off after the new year.
He scored a season-high 41 points against Wofford and scored 25 or more points six times.
