Sehome pair have no trouble advancing in Wesco 4A boys tennis

MILL CREEK – Sehome’s two seeded players, Jamey Stoner and Lonny Johnson, easily advanced to the quarterfinals of the Northwest District 4A boys tennis singles championships Wednesday.

Stoner won in straight sets over Mariner’s Charles Kerr and Johnson defeated Snohomish’s Jake Holderman 6-1, 6-3.

Kamiak advanced three players to today’s quarterfinals at Harbor Square Athletic Club in Edmonds.

Marc Rollins, Jim Vessella and Peter Chung each won. Vessella pulled out a three set victory over Niels Pederson of Shorecrest, 6-4, 1-6, 6-1.

The tournament concludes Friday at Harbor Square.

  • Blaine 2, Friday Harbor 0: Rachelle Ramierz and Jenny Logg scored to lead Blaine to the non-league victory.

    Goals-Blaine: Rachelle Ramirez, Jenny Logg. Goalkeepers-Friday Harbor: not reported. Blaine: Robertson. Records-Friday Harbor 0-4 overall. Blaine 7-6-2.
