Each time out this year, it seems the Tulsa Shock have gotten just a bit better. Saturday night, they finally broke through with a 77-59 victory over the Washington Mystics.
It was the first win of the year for Tulsa, who improved to 1-5, while the Mystics fell to 1-4.
Five players scored in double figures to lead the Shock, including Ivory Latta, who scored 22 points. Sheryl Swoopes chipped in a season-high 13 points, Kayla Pedersen and Jennifer Lacy each scored 12 points and rookie Liz Cambage added 10 points for Tulsa.
Crystal Langhorne and Marissa Coleman each scored 12 points to lead the Mystics.
The Shock shot 9-for-15 (60 percent) from three-point range in the game.
