The struggling Tulsa Shock have added 2010 first round draft pick Jacinta Monroe to their roster.
Monroe, a 6-foot-5 center, appeared in 17 games last season for the Washington Mystics, averaging 2.1 points per game. She was the sixth overall pick in the 2010 by the Mystics, and was traded this past off-season to the Storm alongside Katie Smith, before being released by Seattle.
“What she brings is some size,” general manager and head coach of the Tulsa Shock Nolan Richardson said on the team’s website. “When (Elizabeth) Cambage went down, it exposed us and our lack of size. She’s bringing size, she can run the floor and block some shots.”
