Shorecrest beats Everett in 4 OTs

SHORELINE – Shorecrest made clutch 3-point baskets at the end of regulation and the first and second overtimes, then pulled away in the fourth overtime thanks to 3-point goals to beat Everett 74-66 Thursday in a non-league boys basketball game at the Shorecrest gym.

“It was really the most remarkable game I’ve ever been involved with,” Shorecrest coach Brian Fischer said. “To make three 3-pointers when we had to have them was the most clutch performance I”ve ever seen.”

Anthony Jochim made a 3 with six seconds to play to force the first overtime and sank another with five seconds to play to force a second overtime.

Then Yev Zuyev made one at the at buzzer in the second overtime.

Zuyev, who scored five points in the fourth overtime, and Jeff Batt both made 3s in the final overtime period.

Zuyev led Shorecrest with 23 points. Mark Gulike scored 20.

Brian Barhanovich had 21 points to lead Everett. David Safstrom scored 19.
